Car Park Picnics

This weekend sees the beginning of another round of car park picnics. For those of you that have never heard of car park picnics it consists entirely of myself and Jayne flamboyantly dressed visiting car parks up and down the country to eat from Tupperware. Obviously it's not a pastime we take lightly and we are often accompanied with a variety of condiments and sauces to break the monotony.

This year though we will be desperately trying to avoid fox carcasses, urine filled elevators, dodgy stairwells and of course the obligatory toilet terrors that seem to befall me in particular as we make our way to various appearances as Mr & Mrs Smith.

In preparation for the first this weekend, which is the openening event, we have got ourselves fighting fit over the last seven days by walking, climbing and stumbling a total of thirty six miles, swimming over a 1000 metres and drinking twenty seven bottles of wine. Not really, I'm exaggerating, it was only 999 metres.

So feast your eyes on the first event at Artmarket Gallery in Cottingham, an event that is also part of the Cottingham Food Festival so not only is there a vintage bus to greet you and bring you to the gallery but also Michelin starred chefs, cooking demonstrations and oodles of other food related fun. To get in the spirit of the day I will be dressing up as Paul Hollywood and Jayne will be Mary Berry.

Only kidding, I'll be Mary Berry thankyou very much, Jayne can wear the itchy beard.

So if you want to be part of this great event and meet a couple of ageing twee artists to chat, get things signed, see all the new work from myself and Jayne whilst enjoying the food festival and munching on goodies then get yourself over to Cottingham this Sunday 21st for a fab time in the gallery that is already blinged up to the max with everything Impossimal!

We will also be adding more appearance dates for November as we get them confirmed, a full listing can be found on our website at www.petersmithcollective.co.uk or by clicking HERE

This weekends car park menu includes seared tuna with tomatoes, olives, pasta and a cheeky little dressing to go with it. We will of course be serving coffee from a brand new flask after my scalding accident from two weeks ago followed by after dinner mints. All served on freshly pressed tea towels on our laps in the comfort of our car.

Appointments for this bijou pop up restaurant are unfortunately full apart from a two seater behind our head rests. You must provide your own food and drink and willing to stump up for the car park fees.

Have a great weekend and maybe, just maybe see some of you this weekend!
